The children in EYFS will be learning about The Good Samaritan.
This half-term we are studying Chapter 13 of Matthew’s gospel. This deals with the parables about the kingdom of heaven. This will be linked with the life and work of Nelson Mandela and we hope to draw further links from our study of Pope Francis last half term.
These important assessment activities will be carried out during the week beginning Monday 8th May. Our young students have worked very hard in preparation for their ‘SAT’s’ – we are certain that they will do well.
Parents, please make sure that your children have lots of lovely early nights and are in school in good time throughout this week.
(No absences can be ‘authorised’ during this week.)
Thank you all for your engagement with our recent Parents Evenings. During these, some parents asked for more information about how handwriting is taught. We have gathered together some useful resources from Penpals (our handwriting scheme), our policy on handwriting and the original parents evening PowerPoint delivered in February. We hope these resources provide further clarity.
With sadness, today we say goodbye to Mrs Chrysandreas.
Mrs Chrysandreas has been with St John’s since 2010 and has served our children and school community with love and dedication in that time.
We wish her well in all her future adventures – may the Light of Christ continue to shine within and around her as she moves forwards.
Farewell Mrs C – with love from all your friends at St John’s.
